Richard’s area of expertise is the criminal law and he is frequently instructed to appear in the Magistrates, District and High Courts.
Richard commenced his career as a police officer in New Zealand, rising to the rank of Police Inspector and becoming a legal adviser to the Auckland Police. He then commenced employment in the Prosecutions Division of the Attorney General’s Chambers, Hong Kong in 1985. After 10 years as a prosecutor he commenced private practice as a Barrister in 1994.
