Patrick is in mixed criminal and general civil practice, with particular focus on the blurred and muddy areas between criminal and civil laws. He is always interested in receiving instructions to handle cases caught in muddy and uncharted waters.
Called to the Bar in 2008, Patrick has since developed a mixed criminal and general civil practice, with particular focus on the blurred and muddy areas between criminal and civil laws. He had appearance as a junior counsel in a money laundering case in the Court of Final Appeal. He is experienced in defending in white collar crimes and quasi criminal cases including Labour Department’s and MPFA’s summonses.
On the civil side, Patrick has experience and accepts instructions in a wide range of cases, most of which are somehow tainted with iniquity, illegality and criminality: defamation, deceit or misrepresentation in contract involved in insurance, estate agency, guarantee, partnership, and company, property ownership dispute involved trusts and restitution claims, trade marks and copyrights infringement. Judicial Review, Regulatory hearing and investigation such as Estate Agency Authority, Housing Authority, Securities and Futures Commission, and Hong Kong Monetary Authority.
In addition to the practice in the intersection and overlap of Criminal and Civil laws, Patrick has recently expanded his practice to land dispute including adverse possession, boundary dispute and N.T. Land inheritance/Chinese Customary Law. Besides this, he is always interested in receiving instructions to handle cases caught in muddy and uncharted waters.
