Upon obtaining a qualification in International Trade, Patricia worked as a Customs Affairs Specialist for Société Générale de Surveillance and in the Imports Department of a German freight forwarder agency. During this period she liaised with various parties in different parts of the world as well as with the Peruvian Customs House.
As Patricia’s interest in law was always in her mind, she decided to become a barrister. She has represented numerous clients in court involving cases of different nature. She also represents non-refoulement claimants and conducts prosecutions on-fiat. In addition, Patricia takes part in community service through the Free Legal Advice Scheme of the Duty Lawyer Service.
She has published several articles in The Hong Kong Lawyer and has conducted legal research and writing on a wide range of legal topics, including projects on transsexual people, local and international bribery and corruption laws, and harassment and stalking laws for the University of Hong Kong. She has tutored students on the LLB program at the University of Hong Kong.
Her undergraduate studies in linguistics in Lima, Peru helped Patricia develop language skills in Spanish, English, German and French. She also knows basic Cantonese.
